ATscale was delighted to host an event with Devex alongside the World Economic Forum in Davos: Unlock the everyday: Advancing the SDGs through the power of assistive technology.

This event brought together political leaders, investors, and the private sector to explore innovative strategies for expanding access to assistive technology and unlocking the potential of millions around the globe.

On October 17th 2023 in Berlin, disability-inclusive health and assistive technology were put on the agenda of the World Health Summit for the very first time, in the session “Reimagining Universal Health Coverage to Leave No One Behind: Health Equity for Persons with Disabilities and Access to Assistive Technology as Key Drivers to Achieving UHC”.

Convening event exploring how AI Digital Assistive Technology (AT) can break barriers in low- and middle- income countries.

Hosted by ATscale and co-organized in partnership with UNICEF, this partnership event aims to shine a light on the relevance of assistive technology for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, on the sidelines of the SDG Summit during the United Nations General Assembly in New York. It will showcase the power of collective action and strong multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder partnerships in achieving our shared ambition.

Raising awareness of the crucial role that assistive technology must play to advance disability rights to member states and organizations of persons with disabilities. 

The Ministry of Health formally launched its project with ATscale in Nairobi alongside its launch of the Rehabilitation and AT Strategy Plan, and Disability Guidelines.

ATscale CEO Pascal Bijleveld and Head of Markets and Global Programmes Emily Wooton held a presentation titled Reaching the Unreached: Increasing Access to AT in Low-resource Countries.

ATscale hosted a workshop in Davos during the World Economic Forum 2023, which included included lightning talks by ATscale CEO Pascal Bijleveld and Disability Rights Activist Dr Victor Santiago Pineda, followed by participatory breakout sessions.

ATscale co-hosted the EU premiere of Dr Victor Santiago Pineda‘s documentary film UNCONFINED and a Q&A panel at the Kulturplatz in Davos during the World Economic Forum 2023.

ATscale and the Missing Billion Initiative hosted a breakfast roundtable on the margins of the summit entitled, Reimagining Health Systems to Leave No One Behind.

ATscale and UNICEF co-hosted a breakfast meeting for 19 participants, including representatives from 13 private sector providers of Assistive Technology (AT) during the REHACARE trade fair in Dusseldorf, Germany.

ATscale, WHO, UNICEF and GDI Hub hosted this side event at the Global Disability Summit 2022 Virtual Side Event titled Mainstreaming Assistive Technology Provisioning Across Development and Humanitarian Systems

ATscale, the Global Partnership for Assistive Technology organized this online event with key partners WHO, UNICEF, the International Disability Alliance (IDA), Norad, USAID, UKFCDO, GDI Hub, GAATO and CHAI to feed into the second Global Disability Summit, taking place later in February 2022.
